Black Label Burbon - Jim Beam Style
Enjoy a rich flavourful Bourbon! When made from good clean spirit, even to the most discerning, this recipe is every bit as good as the real thing. The real JB Black varies in alcohol percentage (according to the label), batch to batch (bottle to bottle). However, the underlying real alcohol strength is 50% when measured with an alcoholmeter.
Therefore for this recipe, you must start with a minimum of 50% for the full flavour to be enjoyed through any "mixers" you may use.
Things You need:
- 2 Litres - 50% Spirit
- 40 gm Jim Beam Oak Chips
- 1 Pkt Classic American Bourbon
How to do it:
- Soak the spirit on Jim Beam Oak Chips for at least 10 days or until a mid-strength cup of tea colour is achieved. To achieve exactly 2ltr of oaked spirit, you should add 50 ml spirit extra, as the oak will soak up a little.
- Strain off spirit, measure to 2ltr and mix with both sachets of Classic American Bourbon. (Note: Disregard mixing instructions on pack)
